Biography
As a Managing Director at Greenfields based in our Frankfurt office, Klaus Xhaxhiu also serves as Head of Compliance. Consequently, in this capacity, he ensures that Greenfields and its customers maintain the highest standards of regulatory compliance. To achieve this goal, he oversees all aspects of operations. Moreover, he directs the development and implementation of Compliance and AML Services in the German market.
Indeed, before his tenure at Greenfields, Klaus held several MLRO and Compliance roles. Through these positions, he gained over seven years of experience in the banking and financial services sector. Specifically, he was pivotal in establishing the compliance and AML organization for a German branch of a European Bank, where, in turn, he served as the primary point of contact for regulators.
In another key role, Klaus served as a Compliance Manager for a global corporate service provider in Germany. There, he was instrumental in building the compliance team from scratch, while also implementing robust monitoring systems. In addition to these duties, he managed all client onboarding processes and handled AML matters with precision.
Regarding his academic credentials, Klaus Xhaxhiu holds a Master of Laws from the University of Hannover and the University of Lisbon, where he specialized in European and International Law. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD in the European banking regulatory landscape. As a result of this dedication, his combined academic and practical experience provide him with comprehensive knowledge in regulatory compliance.
Finally, his native language is Albanian, and he is fluent in English, German, and Italian.
